Christmas Eve 2007

No comments:

Our first Christmas dinner! We were just 10 days married then. We decided to stay at home and celebrate Christmas Eve together...plus one special guest: Mike. He had measles at that time, and since he's all alone at the "Matiwasay tower", we asked him to cross the street to come over and have dinner with us.

The carbonara was Christine's. The taco and cocktail salad was Vincent's. The jam, cheese and bread were just there (hehehe). Oh, and the wine was from our wedding pa! By the way, it hibernated in the fridge for about 2 more months until we finally decided to give it away. Why? Our stomachs turn upside down on alcohol, even at just 0.01% content. REALLY.

Slow-mo break

No comments:
This post is a little late, but since this is one of our firsts, this has to be blogged in ;-)

As a dating couple, we used to go to Zambales for the Lenten break, but this year, we decided not to go out of town and just spend our quiet time together at home. We were so looking forward to this well-deserved hols. At breakfast last Wednesday, we went to God and prayed for everything to go slow motion in the days that were to come. We needed it, and that was the perfect time to get it.

Our apartment compound was extra quiet the whole time during the break. The mellow music boarded by "computerized DJs" over the radio plus the scorching summer heat wave made everything around us seem lethargic. Since we've predicted all of this to happen, we've already stacked our fridge with foodstuffs that we can just nick every time we feel like it, since stores usually close (except for the nearby Mercury drug/grocery store) during the season; there's not much use going out. With that, we were home with our much needed "supplies" to get by 'til shops open on Easter Sunday ;-)

Lethargic it may have been, but that was what we've prayed and been longing for -- a quiet time, with which we made the most out of. After doing our chores, we just lounged in our bedroom and indulged in TV marathons over baked left over spaghetti and bottomless fruit juice on the floor. We celebrated Easter Sunday at sunrise at church and thanked the Father for Jesus.

We had an awesome time. We're excited to do this again next time. We just hope it will not be too far away from now.

Bridal March

No comments:

As some of you may have known, we didn't hire a videographer to document the wedding. We only wanted a photographer to capture our moment.

This is a digicam video shot by Annie, which she took originally in color. The comments you hear are from Annie and Ion (conversations and the Yiheee! part), the bride worrying about her loose shoes (Matatanggal na yata sapatos 'ko!) and Ate Lulu "scolding" the bride (...Lalo kang madadapa!), over the birds' chirping and Justin's Bless the Broken Road on the piano.

Mumuy

No comments:

We were tidying up the clutter on our bed one night (we jam the bed with our stuffs whenever we get home from work -- not a very good practice) when, after lifting one pile of paper up, Mumuy (read HERE about him and Ting-ay) popped up like this out of nowhere:

"Mumuuuuuuy! Napa'no ka dyan (what happened to you)?!"

Haberdey Mr. Abrigo!

No comments:
Vincent celebrated his birthday last March 7th -- his first as a husband (giggles)! Hehehe. Mimicking two kids in one Christmas TV commercial, I asked him, "Binsent, what is your birthday wish?" Without batting an eyelash, he jumped up and down and said, "Bagong (new) TV! Bagong PC! Bagong MP3 player! Bagong Gundam Seed!" I was just flabbergasted and laughed off like a villain. Maybe he thought he married the owner of Christine's Games and Gadgets. Hahaha! "Nood na lang tayo ng (let's just go see) My Big Love!", I suggested. I know those toys still come alive in his mind, but at that time, my feigning worked! At least temporarily.

We also had a belated birthday dinner with his brothers (cum girlfriends) and cousin at our apartment, Sunday night. As usual, brothers sabotaging brothers in front of the girlfriends was the game of the night. In an afterthought, Michael wondered, "Bakit wala tayong ganyang pangbukó kay (how come we didn't have anything like that to blackmail) Kuya?!" By the time he finished saying that, I was already armed with one slipper when I threatened, "Sige, sino'ng may sasabihin pa (go on, who else is going to say something)?!" Surprisingly, no one dared. Hehehe.
