I've been here in Geneva a little over a month now, and I wouldn't be able to make it this far without God's company and the incredible love and encouragement of my awesome, awesome husband! Had it not for them, I might have given up my internship long ago, something which I seriously considered doing at the height of my loneliness.
My husband and I always find ways to keep in touch, as much as possible every single day. I call him every weekend, we chat online everyday, send emails everyday, and send SMS every so often.
Lately, we found other ways to connect and make sure we still do things together. Since having Internet resources in my apartment room here, I catch
My Girl (see related post
HERE) over
Pinay Channel and
Pinoy Channel TV before I go to bed. Here's one more:
WE EAT TOGETHER! How does that happen? Well, we owe it to the +6:00 time difference. When it's lunch time here, it's dinner time in the Philippines. Vincent usually goes home from work at 4PM, and then goes online while he cooks his dinner. When he tells me he's ready, I take out my
baon (yes, I pack my lunch) from my bag, we say our grace together (we type in 'AMEN!' when either of us is done), then eat together -- online!
Here's a thread in one of our lunch/dinner conversations:
